This book provides clear cut step-by-step instructions on how to sell a business. The author explains each part of the seven-step process in laymen's terms, so there's no confusion. As I read this book, I felt as if I had a business sales broker right in the same room with me, explaining everything as I went along. I highly recommend reading this book if you plan to sell your business someday. It is well written and a very easy read, filled with just about everything you need to know from locating a buyer for your business all the way through closing the sale. I've been thinking about selling my business for a very long time, but I kept putting it off because I didn't know how to go about it, until I stumbled across this book. This book provides readers with everything they need to know about how to best go about selling their business. I liked that the author is thorough with giving all of the information readers need to pull it off. I had questions on how to negotiate an offer and the author easily covered all of those steps on what I needed.

A fun historical mystery with a twist

‘The Mummifier’s Daughter’ is a great blend of historical mystery and thriller; it has a touch of romantic suspense and a large dose of vivid descriptions depicting the life of an embalmer’s daughter in ancient Egypt. Neti is an unusual thing in ancient Egypt because her father taught her the art of embalming and preparing bodies for mummification and burial. She is familiar with biology and anatomy, and being a bright girl she grew into an apprentice for her beloved father. Her skills drew the attention of Shabaka, a Nubian police man sent by the Pharaoh to uncover the mystery behind some dodgy things going on in the busy city.
Neti and Shabaka are similar in that they are outcasts, he for his Nubian heritage and she for her abilities to diagnose how a death may have occurred. Though she uses nothing more than science, she is considered a witch among the people. Their relationship grows as the story progresses, but it evolves differently than you might imagine.
Without giving away the plot, I will say that I loved this book’s easy tone and suspenseful pace. I was hooked by the lyrical voice the author uses to describe the ancient city and its traditions. He has a great style, and although the book isn’t completely polished (there are a few spelling errors and typos), it is still a fantastic book. The characters are finely crafted and their actions are believable; I was rooting for Neti throughout the entire story and wanted to see more of her abilities as a detective.
The storyline kept me hooked, especially as the story arc led to the dramatic conclusion between the characters that only thought they knew each other so well. I had a tear in my eye as Neti learned the truth of her own origins and that of her childhood ‘friend’. The story had a little bit of everything in it, from the understated and unachieved romance between Neti and her partner Shabaka, the emotion of the her family’s story, the intrigue of the unknown serial killer, and the thrill of finding out not everyone was as they seemed.
Bottom line: I really, truly enjoyed this book and sincerely hope to see a sequel or series of books based on the main characters. The author has made ancient Egypt exciting and accessible in this fun book, and I look forward to seeing more!

Good book, but...

This is a very good story with most of the mechanics of the writing being well done. The main problem I had was that many words were not quite correct. An example would be: a "quail" is a bird, a "quill" is a feather pen; a "prologue" goes at the BEGINNING of a book, an "epilogue" goes at the END. Better spell checking & proof reading is needed. All that being said, however, I am anxious to read the sequel!

Does not read like an egyptian

Mummifier's Daughter while seemingly historically accurate the characters dialogue is choppy. A priest curses " By Amon-Ra", but in another paragraph Neti addresses her mother as "Mommy" and frequent usage of the word " OK" broke up the story line for me. The story line was pretty decent.

Archy McNally, the hero of Lawrence Sander's latest whodunit McNally's Gamble is a throwback to an earlier, more gracious age. He lives well, dresses well, and keeps hours that Dashiell Hammet's "Thin Man," Nick Charles, would approve of. When not wining, dining, or driving his fire-engine red Miata around Palm Beach, Archy keeps discreet tabs on the wealthy clients of his father's law firm. Then one day, Edythe Westmore, a well-to-do widow, considers buying a Fabergé Imperial Egg and all hell breaks loose. Her children are displeased, her lawyer (Archy's father) is concerned, and Archy is up to his neck in intrigue.

Sanders writes a serviceable mystery, but the real pleasure in McNally's Gamble is Archy. Imagine Bertie Wooster as a detective, or Lord Peter Wimsey a Floridian, and you'll have some idea of Archy. Though he describes himself as "a frivolous scatterbrain," he has enough discipline to solve the case and, by the end, land the girl, as well.

McNally's Gamble

"McNally's Gamble" is the last Archie McNally novel written by Lawrence Sanders, who died in February 1998. Archie makes discreet inquiries into the purchase of a Faberge egg by a client of his father's law firm, Edythe Westmore. It becomes clear that Mrs. Westmore may become the victim of a con. Edythe's children, Walter and Natalie are especially opposed to their mother's spending $500,000 on the egg. Archie is taken by Natalie, and despite his relationship with Connie Garcia, he partakes in Natalie's sexual favors. I have read all the Archie McNally novels by Lawrence Sanders, and plan to read the Vincent Lardo novels soon. An Archie McNally novel is always a lot of fun to read.

Good, but not great

I have read all of the McNally books and did not think "Gamble" was as good as the others. Somewhat predictable, actually. Sanders' other efforts had more suspense and moved along quicker. In "Gamble" the plot and culprits were clear very early in the narrative and in my opinion, left little to the imagination. "Gamble" left me wanting more, while the others were more satisfying. Still, there is much to like about Archy. Even with all his swimming, he must weight 300 pounds!

McNally's Gamble provides yet another fun and witty Discreet Inquiry, chock full of Archy's illustrious wit and humor, as well as a clever storyline. Unfortunately, it offered fewer suprises than previous McNally jaunts and the villian was ever-so obvious. Still, it delivered what I expected and had hoped for -- a witty tale full of boisterous fun, eyebrow-raising espacades, a few more notches in the bedpost, and plenty of stops at the Pelican club. Not the best, but worth the addition to your McNally anthology.

Only 24 hours in a day. Don't waste your time.

Kept reading it with the hope it would improve. It never did.
As others have stated, the superman powers are never portrayed in a believable way. I found myself chuckling as he dug himself out of a six foot grave.
This book may work for you. It most certainly was a disappointment for me.

I can't believe it's over !

The book was completely awesome, start to finish...but now the trilogy is over and that makes me sad! Darwin and Rosina became a part of my life, I looked forward to every opportunity to read more! Great writing, from a great author. Don't take a break, please keep writing! I know you have many, many more wonderful stories to share with all your readers, old an new!! Absolutely a wonderful book, the only bad part was that it had to end! Thank you for sharing it with us! You have great talent, and with great talent comes great responsibility, eh?

Action and violence galore!

If action and violence interest you, this might appeal to you. I'll confess, I read all of it (as well as the preceding two books in the trilogy) and found them to be highly entertaining. Of course, the extraordinary feats performed by the protagonist were impossible, but this is fiction and the story will certainly keep your attention if you can accept it for what it is. I would have given this book four stars, except that the protagonist's feats stretched the limits of my imagination a little too far.

Pésimo libro sobre fotografía

El libro es sólo una larga e innecesaria introducción para llevar al lector a comprar el libro que el autor vende en un sitio de internet. Está lleno de obviedades, que en nada ayudan a mejorar o comprender mejor la técnica fotográfica, todo ello disfrazado de un supuesto "no-tecnicismo". ¡Este libro no sirve para nada!
