Fell short compared to book one...

After finishing reading book one ( which was a five star book) I wanted to keep on reading the series. I was sorely disappointed with book two. The characters were not as strong as Cass and Dallas were in book two. Gemma's desire to keep hiding her past from Callum just made her character weak. Callums controlling and overbearing ways made him unlikeable. There wasn't enough in the development of their relationship to make their love for each other believable either.

The first book in the series was engaging and well written. This one, though, is neither. The heroine is immature, unwilling to communicate, and defensive. The hero is controlling and emotionally abusive. Neither is likeable ,nor is there a connection between them. All in all, a waste of time and money.

I'm not going to write a book report, others do that very well, but I want to always reward a well written story and a talented author. With all the hacks flooding the ebook market we all must be sure to leave a review for the good books.
If you want a nice, well crafted, old fashion love story - with some modern day heat - this author delivers.
