This is THE book to buy if considering an Airstream

First off this is a well written book, it is clear, fun, and factual. There is the mystique about the Airstream trailers and then there is the reality of the Airstream trailers this book introduces the reader to the reality of purchasing, owning and living in an Airstream trailer. The knowledge passed on from the author, an experienced Airstream owner of many tens of thousands of miles, is invaluable to the prospective adventurer. Some people jump into ownership without a clue about what they are getting themselves into and then get disillusioned about traveling and or living on the road in an Airstream or other brand of trailer. There is a learning curve to this life of living on the road in less than two hundred square feet of living space weighing several tons pulled by your tow vehicle. The Ins and outs of buying, maintaining and living in this icon of American design and function are gone over in detail. The nice thing is the author has a sense of humor and engages the reader in a charming banter that imparts his knowledge almost painlessly. As you can tell I enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend the book to potential owners of Airstream trailers or other brands of trailers! This book could save you a lot of grief and make your ownership of the "Icon" a pleasure and this is from an experienced RV'r who also has tens of thousands of miles under her wheels, but in a class A.

A great read for anyone looking to buy an Airstream (or any other kind of RV for that matter!)

My husband and I have owned an older 30' motorhome for about 4 years; we are considering upgrading our RV and have been interested in Airstreams for two or three years, even attending the Alumipalooza in Ohio a couple of years ago. When I saw Mr. Michael's new book on Amazon, I knew I had to read it...I was familiar with his blog and had read his other books on Amazon.
This book is full of great information and hints on buying an Airstream, particularly a previously owned one. Some information is applicable only for Airstreams--the aluminum outside skin, for example. Other hints about questions to ask the seller, depreciation of used RV's, things to look for in the RV, and so on, are very important to know about any RV one is considering buying. It is clear that Mr. Michael has done major research in his subject and speaks with authority about this subject. It is a very valuable resource for anyone in the market for an RV!

The Airstream buyer's handbook!

Sean Michael's `How to Buy an Airstream / New, Used, & Vintage' is his third work, and his second concerning Airstreams. The iconic Airstream travel trailers have been around since the early 1930s, and yes, they still make them! You have probably seen these sleek, sculpted, and shiny aluminum trailers on the road, and like so many people, you may have been intrigued, by the unique design that borrows so obviously from the aircraft industry. If the outside is intriguing, the inside makes people's jaws drop. There is a reason that Airstream founder Wally Byam called them Land Yachts.
Sean has crafted what will become an indispensable resource for people looking towards buying an Airstream. He talks about everything from the old, dented, and barely salvageable trailers that are so often brought back to a thing of exquisite beauty, to the more recent and affordable `used' models, to the most up-to-date factory fresh models that carry forward with award winning designs. He even talks about another critical element, the tow vehicle. What makes the book even better is the easy-going, relaxed, and humorous approach that Sean takes in his writing. Every page will give you a chuckle, and a lot of useful information!
Sean will hopefully write more about the Airstream experience. Both this, and his first book, `Long, Long, Honeymoon - Living Large in a Small Tin Can', are must haves for future Airstreamers, but there are so many more questions, so many more things to know. Come on Sean! How about a third book?
